Today, sportfishing remains closely connected to the identity and tourism economy of Los Cabos, bringing together a local community and an international fishing community around the waters of the Baja California Peninsula.
The Bisbee's Trilogy
The Bisbee’s tournament calendar includes three major sportfishing events in Baja California Sur, taking place at different times and locations throughout the year.
Bisbee’s East Cape Offshore: Held in Buena Vista on the East Cape, this tournament opened the 2025 season with registration on July 29, fishing from July 30 through August 1, and an awards celebration on August 2.
Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore: Held in Cabo San Lucas, the 2025 tournament included registration on October 13, three days of fishing from October 14–16, and an awards celebration on October 17. The event began with 138 registered boats and an announced purse of $2.8 million.
Bisbee’s Black & Blue Tournament: The final event of the October tournament series in Cabo San Lucas featured registration and opening ceremonies on October 20, three days of fishing from October 21–23, and the awards celebration on October 24.
Together, the three Bisbee’s tournaments form an annual sportfishing tradition across Baja California Sur, beginning with the East Cape Offshore in the summer and continuing with the Los Cabos Offshore and Black & Blue tournaments in Cabo San Lucas in October. Each event has its own setting and character, while together they reflect the region’s longstanding connection with sportfishing and the sea.
